New Features in Kaleido-X Version 6.40
•
[Ref. #F34258]
Logical sources:
Support for dragging alarms from a GSM alarm browser,
directly onto an alarm or text level in XEdit’s sources table.
•
[Ref. #F27412]
Cascade systems:
Support for Kaleido-IP/Kaleido-X and
Kaleido-IP/Kaleido-X16 cascade configurations. Refer to the appropriate Cascade Step-
by-Step Configuration manuals (see
•
[Ref. F33355]
Kaleido-IP:
The Kaleido-IP now supports streaming over wide area
networks (WAN), which are subject to packet delay variation (jitter), latency, packet
reordering and packet loss. It also supports encoders that transmit in bursts or with
long delays between packets. The Kaleido-IP can handle transmission delays matching
the encoder’s video buffer delay, and, in the case of RTP streams, up to ±120 ms of
packet delay variation.
•
[Ref. F33357]
Kaleido-IP:
Support for 4:2:2 video.
Enhancements in Kaleido-X Version 6.40
•
[Ref. #35131]
KMV-3901/3911 clusters:
The time required to switch between the
different members of a KMV-3901/3911 cluster system—for example, when editing the
different parts of a layout—has been significantly reduced.
•
[Ref. #34988/35332]
Kaleido-IP:
Improved robustness to corrupted transport streams.
•
[Ref. F34254]
Kaleido-IP join and leave:
The following operations
no longer
require
decoding resources from the Kaleido-IP.
• Navigating to the alarm status and text attributes listed below, while XEdit is
connected to the Kaleido-IP, or in an iControl GSM alarm browser.
• Alarms: Video loss, Video invalid, Video black, Video freeze, Audio loss, Audio
invalid, All silent, Overall audio overload
• Text: Video/Display format, Video/Display AR, AAC speaker mapping, Audio
coding mode, Audio format
• Having any of these alarms associated with a background action, or with a logical
source, or displayed on an iControl Web page.
As of version 6.40 of the Kaleido-X software for the Kaleido-IP, these alarms’ status and
text are decoded only when a source is being monitored on the wall. This allows
support for up to 1500 logical sources with alarms configured, allowing cycling or
touring of layouts and sources while using probing features. The earlier guidelines
related with Kaleido-IP support for multicast join and leave have therefore been
reduced accordingly (see
Note:
Cascade systems are subject to a number of limitations. See
on page 16, for details.
