6.4.3 Configuring the IO Link channels
A pre-configuration of the I/O function is automatically used for slot 1 of the
subrack. By default, all channels are pre-configured as digital inputs as per
the IO-Link specification.
The configurations of the IO-Link channels (C/Q or ch. A of the IO-port/pin 4 of
the IO-port) in the sub-slots 2 - 9 (port 1 of the device is equivalent to subslot
2, ..., port 8 of the device is equivalent to sub-slot 9) are flexibly definable.
The input and output addresses defined by the Hardware Manager can be
changed.
The following illustration shows the device pre-configuration using the 0980
ESL 109-121 module as an example:
