Swapping around a Power Supply in a Multiviewer
Schedule this maintenance operation during off hours when the system is not in use if
possible as this procedure can cause multiviewer outage.
In an attempt to restore multiviewer operation and to perform fault isolation procedures,
you can swap the position of a power supply around in the multiviewer frame to see if
normal multiviewer operation can be restored.
If the frame has an empty power supply slot (for example, for a redundant power supply unit
(PSU)), you can remove the PSU from the frame and insert it into the other power supply slot.
Refer to the Supermicro SuperServer 1028U Series User’s Manual ; see Related Documentation , on
page 15. Ensure to connect a power cable at the rear of the frame’s chassis for the PSU’s new

Display of an HDMI

Use a short (<6ft (1.8m)),
high-quality cable with
the display
Use a shorter HDMI cable, use an
HDMI cable constructed with
heavier conductors (for example,
AWG 22 (0.34mm

) or thicker), or
both.
Replace the HDMI cable with a long-
range active display cable suited to
longer distances. Contact Technical
Support to purchase long-range
active cables that have been tested
to work with this multiviewer. See

page 128.
Video sync issues /

offset (delay or advance)
with respect to the
network’s PTP
grandmaster cannot be
greater than ±500
nanoseconds.

the offset to settle below 500
