2.1.4 External Connec ons
You can speed up the installa on of the DX940e by having the following equipment and informa on on hand before
beginning:
A supply of cables and connectors of the required types.
IP addresses for new devices and any exis ng devices you will be connec ng to.
Your notes on naming conven ons and end point informa on.
2.2 Unpacking
Unpack and inspect the DX940e.
The DX940e is shipped with the following items in the box:
DX940e unit
Panel moun ng brackets (19” Rack mount brackets or DIN–Rail moun ng brackets, op onal)
Console Cable - DB9 termina ons
Ethernet cable - RJ45 termina ons
Be sure that all the equipment you have ordered is included in the shipment.
Remove the unit from the Styrofoam end caps and inspect the DX940e chassis for dents or other shipping related
damage. Report any damage immediately to Garre Com customer support and DO NOT INSTALL the unit.
2.3 Installa on of the DX940e Unit
To install the DX940e you must first:
Mount it
Make the ground and power connec ons.
Connect the network cables
2.3.1 Moun ng
Your DX940e shipment includes the moun ng hardware you have ordered as appropriate to your site.
This hardware is one of:
Included, a pair of brackets for moun ng on a panel.
Op onal (ACC-DX-RM), a pair of L-shaped brackets for conven onal moun ng in a 19” rack system.
Op onal (ACC-DX-RRM), a pair of L-shaped brackets for reverse moun ng in a 19” rack system.
Op onal (ACC-DX-DM), a pair of DIN-Rail moun ng brackets.
