INTRODUCTION
CONNECTING SOLAR PANELS
Solar panels are either nominally 12V or 24V. Since the belair system is nominally 48V,
either 4 x 12V panels or 2 x 24V panels must be connected in series to generate sufficient
voltage to charge the battery.
Connect the SOLARLINK to a belair JUNCTION or RESERVOIR using the supplied 4-pin
cable. If you are stacking RESERVOIRS onto a JUNCTION, the SOLARLINK should be
connected to the RESERVOIR furthest away from the JUNCTION.
Belair recommends panels fitted with MC4 connectors (e.g Victron Energy
SPM040551200). MC4 extension cables will be needed to bring the solar panel
connections to the SOLARLINK, the length depends on your system and should be as small
as possible (less than 10m). It is not recommended to mix different panel types.
