Close off the tank vent located in the dome well to prevent

moisture condensation. Use a plastic bag secured over the top of

the vent with a rubber band.

Removal of Spray Bar

If the spreader assembly must be removed to free the vehicle for other

uses, consult the BearCat Mfg. Service Department (telephone (928) 684-

7851) before proceeding.

Hydraulic System Maintenance

The hydraulic system must be serviced at the beginning of each working

season.

Drain the system through the drain plug located in the bottom of

the hydraulic tank.

Remove the spin-on filters adjacent to the hydraulic tank and

discard them properly.

Install new filters. Hand tighten only. Use the filters in our parts
list.

Close the drain valve and refill the reservoir with 22 gallons of

Type 46 Hydraulic Fluid.

Condensation that may build up in the hydraulic system is

capable of clogging the filter. This condition can lead to

insufficient hydraulic fluid at the pump, which will degrade the

performance of the hydrostatic transmission and other

components. To monitor the condition of the filter, periodically

observe the vacuum

gauge mounted on the

filter housing. The

gauge should not

indicate higher than

10 inches Hg when the

system is operating. If

a higher vacuum is

shown, the filter is

obstructed and must

be replaced.
