 units should first be retrofitted to model 5001 X before adding this new model 5023 to

Many instruments may already contain the new V5.00 Update Kit, confirm that this kit is needed before 
ordering it.  A mandatory retrofit to use Version 5.0 software will soon be done to all Clinitek Atlas 
systems. 

 

To Retrofit Model 5001X and Early 5001 B units to use New Model 5023:

Item and page numbers below refer to the Service Manual page where the part is pictured. 

 

1.

                                                                         

Go to Ready For Testing screen and record Strips Remaining total.  Go to Main Menu and do a 
PRINT SETUP or otherwise record all Setup selections.  Transfer all patient and control results to the 
computer and/or printer.  Remove used reagents from the Takeup Reel. 

 

2.

                                                                         

Go into Diagnostics and do a Replace Pipette.  Remove Pipette from instrument. 

 

3.

                                                                         

Turn off the Clinitek Atlas unit.  Remove the Sample Handler from the Clinitek Atlas system by 
removing the four 10-32 x 0.75 inch socket head alien cap screws. 

 

4.

                                                                         

Remove Left Door and its hinge (items 20 and 18, page 10.4) from instrument frame.  Remove Right 
Lower Door and its hinge (items 19 and 34, page 10.4) from the frame. 

 

5.

                                                                         

Remove Back Panel (item 11, page 10.4) and Right Side Panel (item 15, page 10.4) from Clinitek 
Atlas unit.  Note the top front alien screw may require using an elbow or ball-socket alien wrench to 
remove this right side panel.
