Table 7-1. Troubleshooting Chart – No Alarm or Printout, Control Panel Problems
PROBLEM
POSSIBLE CAUSE AND CORRECTION
1.
Normal display when power switch is
turned on, but printer will not print.
1.
Printer cable unplugged from HMI – Plug printer cable to
HMI.
2.
Printer is defective – Call STERIS.*
2.
Printer printout is erratic.
Printer is defective – Call STERIS.*
3.
Generated printout is light or blank or
parts of characters are missing on gen-
erated printout.
1.
Printer paper installed backwards – Reinstall paper roll
with paper feeding downward from back of roll.
2.
Wrong printer paper used – Use only STERIS paper
(P117913-393).
3.
Printer head is dirty – Call STERIS.*
4.
Printer is defective – Call STERIS.*
4.
Paper will not be taken up into power
take-up.
Verify printer motor or roller – Replace as necessary.
5.
Printer will not print (printer must print
one line in less than 3 seconds).
1.
Paper jammed in printer – Verify and clear out jam as
necessary.
2.
Drag on paper roll – Verify and replace printer roll. Use
only STERIS paper (P117913-393).
3.
Printer is defective – Call STERIS.*
