Adjustment
Adjustment of Drum Brake
Danger Danger
Make sure that the brake wire is not cracked
or damaged.
Important
If the brake becomes less effective due to
larger clearance between the brake drum and
the brake shoe, adjust the clearance.
The wire is used for fine adjustments.
Place the jacks beneath the jack-up points, and
then lift the machine off the ground.

Make sure that no tires get contact with the
jack stand.
Release the parking brake, and fully loosen
the brake wires using the wire adjustment
bolts on all brake drums.
Follow the steps below to adjust the brake.
Remove the rubber plug covering the
clearance adjustment hole on the rear of
the backing plate.

Insert a flat-blade screwdriver or similar
tool into the clearance adjustment hole
and turn the adjustment gear in the
direction of the arrow.
Turn the adjustment gear until the
clearance between the brake drum and
brake shoe has gone and it cannot be
turned any more.

similar tool due to the tight space, use a
brake adjustment tool with a curved tip.
