VACUUM PUMP

CAUTION

NOTICE

The Vacuum Pump if equipped (Fig-1) puts a vacuum on the hydraulic circuit (case drains and tank

return circuits).

This is used when servicing or replacing hydraulic components. It’s purpose is to minimize

the hydraulic oil loss. The VAC PUMP button

(Fig-2)

on the side console key pad operates the Vacuum

Pump.

Avoid running the vacuum pump for long periods of time.

If used for extended periods of time the oil level drops in the ﬁlter

housing and is replaced by air.

If the machine is started and brought up to

working rpm’s right away, after work is complete, the air in the ﬁlter housing

will be pressed out through the ﬁlter at high speed. The air bubbles within

the hydraulic oil that then form will be the same size as the ﬁlters ﬁltration

rating.

If the service work requires that the vacuum pump to be run for a long

period of time, once the work is complete, the machine must be run at

a idle for several minutes with out any functions being used.

After being

run at an idle, run each machine function slowly to help purge any remaining

air out of the hydraulic system.

When ﬁnished making the repairs, turn oﬀ the vacuum pump.

Wait 30 seconds

before starting machine. This gives the time needed for the vacuum to be released

from the hydraulic system.
