ATP Leak Test Results
g) This concludes the ATP Leak Test.
C.
Applying Leak Correction
If the leak rate does not exceed 2 kts/min or 50 ft/min, record the leak rate of the Test Set
and hoses so that the values can be subtracted
from the aircraft’s leak test. The calculated
value removes the leaks caused by the Test Set and hoses and isolates the aircraft
systems’ leak rate.
11. AIRCRAFT TESTING
CAUTION:
OBSERVE ALL SAFETY PRECUATIONS DETAILED IN THE AMM.
CAUTION:
WHEN USING PS ONLY, ENSURE THAT THE DIFFERNTIAL PRESSURE (QC)
STAYS WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE AIRSPEED INDICATOR (ASI).
A.
Preliminary Setup
1. Ensure the Static (Ps) and Pitot (Pt) Test Set Leak Test (Test Set and hoses only) are
completed and that the Test Set
is “Safe at Ground” and vented before connecting the
tester to the aircraft systems.
Note
: The ports on the Test Set and mating hoses are color-coded to help prevent the
accidental crossing of Static (Ps) and Pitot (Ps) hoses.
2. Using a Barfield Inc.
universal adapter or another manufacturer’s custom aircraft pitot
adapter, connect the Pitot (red) port hose to the aircraft pitot system as referenced in the
AMM.
Using the Barfield Inc.
2423F Static Port adapter or another manufacturer’s custom
aircraft static adapter, connect the Static (blue) port hose to the aircraft static system, as
referenced in the AMM.
Note
: Some aircraft have more than one Static (Ps) port associated with a given static
system. Make sure that other ports in the system being tested are sealed before
continuing.
3. It is recommended to have the Test Set chassis grounded to the aircraft or UUT using the
Ground stud located in the upper-right corner of the panel as depicted in item 5 of Figure
