8.15 Adjusting the notch fi lter
Purpose of the notch fi lter
The notch fi lter is a coated glass plate located at the end of the light pipe assembly. The notch fi lter applies some small color
corrections of the light coming out of the light pipe, which is emitted by the xenon lamp of the projector. This is done to achieve an
optimal color calibration of the native colors. The notch
fi lter can slightly turn, with respect to the light path, which allows a small
adjustment of the native colors. Note that, next to the pure optical color calibration by the notch fi lter, there is also a software color
calibration.

To access the notch fi lter, the left side cover has to be removed from the projector. This procedure assumes
that the left side cover is already removed from the projector.

How to adjust the notch fi lter
1. Release the Thumb screw (reference 1) of the notch fi lter.
