Start the product as described below and keep it in idle speed. The saw chain
(10) must not move when the engine is running idle.
WARNING!
If the saw chain shows any signs of moving, stop the engine
immediately! Wait for all moving parts to stop! Contact an authorised
service centre or a similarly qualified person to re-adjust idling speed!
Starting / Stopping
Cold start
WARNING!
Make sure the saw chain (10) is not touching the ground
or other objects when starting the product!
Ensure the rear handle (1) is in the upright position!
1. Push front hand guard (9) forward to engage the chain brake (Fig. 24, step 1).
The saw chain (10) is now locked.
2. Set the ignition switch (23) on (Fig. 24, step 2).
3. Pull out the choke lever (5) fully. The choke lever (5) is now at CLOSE position
(Fig. 24, step 3).
4. Press primer (4) 6 times until the bubble is filled with fuel (Fig. 24, step 4).
5. Hold the product firmly on the ground with left hand on the front handle (8).
Your thumb and fingers shall grasp the handle.
6. Place the right foot onto the rear hand safeguard and step down.
7. Pull the recoil starter handle (26) slowly with your right hand until you feel a
definite resistance and then give it a brisk, strong pull. Repeat 4 times until
you hear a blasting sound (Fig.24, step 5). At this stage the engine will not
start.
WARNING!
Allow the rope to return slowly and in a controlled manner
after each pull! Do not pull out the recoil starter beyond the red colour
band at the end of the recoil starter!
8. Push the choke lever (5) fully back in (Fig. 24, step 6). The choke lever is now
at OPEN position, and throttle is kept at the fast tickover position.
9. Pull the recoil starter handle (26)again until the engine starts. (Fig. 24,
step 7).
10. Press the throttle interlock (2) and the throttle trigger (3) to cancel fast tickover
(Fig. 24, step 8). The engine runs at idle speed.
11. Let the product run idle for about 30 seconds to warm it up.
12. Once the engine is running smoothly, carefully pull the front hand guard
(9) back toward the front handle (8) to disengage the chain brake (Fig. 24,
step 9).
