HOW TO:

Change a VIGIL2 amplifier

Description of rectification works:

TO CHANGE THE AMPLIFIER YOU MUST DISCONNECT THE VIGIL2 BVSMP CHARGER FIRST, THEN THE
MAINS LEAD, TO AVOID SHORTING OR CREATING ANY SPARKS. WHEN POWERING BACK UP DO THE
REVERSE. UNCONNECT THE MAINS LEAD FOLLOWED BY THE BATTERY LEAD.

1.  Disconnect the BVSMP by taking the battery lead off first, then the mains lead and then the charger block and also

remove earths (bottom to top).

2.  Ensure the BVSMP is dead and then pull out the mainframe by removing the four M6 bolts and then remove the

top panel by taking out four screws on either side. Now you should be able to pull out the amplifier (if it’s too tight to
remove, try loosening the screws on the bottom of the mainframe).

3.  Remove all CAT 5 Leads, 100V Lines and earths ensuring you know the correct positions to put back. Recommend

noting positions before disconnection.

4.  Remove the amplifier and insert the new amplifier.

5.  Reconnect the leads and earths in correct locations on the amplifier before powering the mainframe back on. Then

connect the power to the BVSMP as shown above. Connect mains first followed by the battery connectors.

6.  Screw the panel back together and slide the mainframe back into the rack and secure by screwing back the four M6

bolts.

7.  The Green Power LED should be lit and the 10% LED should flash if monitoring is turned on.

8.  If possible test the output of this amplifier by testing the corresponding zones this amplifier uses.
