Raising and Lowering the Spindle
The Spindle can be raised or lowered by turning the
handwheel (A).
1. Loosen the spindle height lock knob on the side
of the left side of the cabinet.
2. To raise the spindle height, turn the handwheel
clockwise.
3. To lower the spindle height, turn the handwheel
counterclockwise.
4. The adjustable scale (B) on the front of the
shaper shows the height of the spindle and can
be positioned to set your zero mark at multiple
locations.
5. Once the spindle is in the desired location
tighten the lock knob to hold the position.
Cutter Installation
Always follow cutter manufacturer recommendations;
however, if not available use the table below with your
particular cutting needs in mind to help select the correct
cutter, spindle, and RPM. Then install your cutter as
outlined.
1. UNPLUG THE SHAPER!
2. Place the bushing (if needed) onto the spindle for cutter
support.
3. Slide the cutter onto the spindle, making sure the
rotation is correct for the specific application.
