CS 100 Charging Scale (P/N 2010-0000) 

Calibration Instructions 

Instruction 2010-9000 

Rev. 0 – June 2006 

 

This instruction sheet contains two calibration procedures for the CS 100 Charging Scale. Look at 

Figures A and B, and then perform the appropriate procedure. 

 
If the display case of your scale 

looks like Figure A, then 

perform the Calibration 
Procedure for TYPE “A” 

Charging Scales.

Calibration Procedure for TYPE “A” Charging Scales 

 
NOTE 1:

 IMPORTANT, PLEASE NOTE! 

Calibration MUST be performed using an 80 kg (176.4 lb) 

weight standard with an accuracy of ±0.057 kg (±1/8 lb). 

No other weight is acceptable!

 

 

NOTE 2:

 If an error occurs at any time during calibration, turn the unit OFF and remove the battery  

for at least 20 seconds. 

 

1.

 

Press the 

ON

 key and then immediately press the 

UNIT

 and 

TARE

 keys together.  The unit will 

not progress through the segment check routine, but will display “SET-1.”  If the unit enters the 

segment check routine, then turn the unit 

OFF

 and start over. 

2.

 

Press 

UNIT

.  The text “SET-11” will appear. 

3.

 

Press 

UNIT

 again. A number within the range of 5000 to 6500 should appear. If the displayed 

number does not fall within that range, then open the display case and adjust VR1 (100K 
potentiometer on the circuit board) until the displayed number falls within the specified range. 

4.

 

Press 

TARE

.  The text “ZERO” will flash at the bottom left of the display. 

5.

 

Apply calibration weight.  Refer to NOTE 1 above. 

6.

 

Press 

UNIT

.  The text “TARE” will flash at the bottom left of the display. 

7.

 

Press the 

UNIT

 and 

TARE

 buttons together.  The unit must progress through the segment check 

routine, and then display “0.000” and the text “ZERO” at the bottom left of the display.  Repeat 

this step if necessary. 

8.

 

Remove calibration weight.  The display MUST show a value of –80 ±0.2 kg.  If not, refer to 
NOTE 2 above and re-perform this procedure starting at Step 1. 

9.

 

Press the 

UNIT

 and 

TARE

 buttons together. 

10.

 

Press 

TARE

.  The display should show “0.000” along with the text “ZERO” at the bottom left 

of the display. 

11.

 

Place any known test weight on the scale to verify calibration.  Remember to press the 

UNIT

 

button for correct unit of measure for the weight applied. 

12.

 

This completes the calibration procedure.  Press 

OFF
