History
The history function of an oscilloscope is a feature that allows the user to capture and display a waveform
over a longer time period than what is visible on the screen. In traditional oscilloscopes, the display shows
only the most recent waveform, which makes it difficult to observe changes or patterns that occur over a
longer period.
With the history function, the oscilloscope continuously captures the waveform data and stores it in a
memory buffer. The user can then scroll back through the captured data to view the waveform over a
longer period. This feature is especially useful for troubleshooting intermittent or sporadic signals, as it
allows the user to go back in time to capture the exact moment when an anomaly occurred.
In run state, the oscilloscope records input waveform continually; when fill up the memory (reach the
maximal frame), the new frames will cover the old frames and keep the latest frames.
