6.3. Batteries
Your foldable power wheelchair is fitted with Lithium Ion batteries.
If your foldable power wheelchair is not used for a longer period, you
must still charge the batteries (see Chapter 6.3.1) every 4 weeks,
otherwise the batteries could be damaged by deep discharge.
Before setting off each time, check the charge status of your batteries
by looking at the battery status display on your control unit. If the
battery status display is only showing three bars, do not travel on
long journeys and connect the battery charger to the foldable power
wheelchair immediately.
We recommend that you connect the charger to the foldable power
wheelchair after every trip.
6.3.1. Charging batteries
Only use an approved charger to charge the batteries (type in
accordance with Chapter 5. or provided by B+B dealer).
Please also follow the operating instructions for the charger!

First switch the foldable power wheelchair off.
•
Before you switch the charger on, check that the power supply is
230V.
•
Connect the charger to the power socket (230V)
•
Connect the charger to the battery of your foldable power
wheelchair
•
When the lamp lights up red, the device is charging
The complete charging procedure takes approx. 8-10 hours.

Once the charging procedure is complete, disconnect the foldable
power wheelchair from the charger
•
then unplug from the mains

6.3.2. Replacing the batteries
Avoid using metal tools, touching the battery terminals and follow the
manufacturer’s instructions.
Batteries shall only be replaced by your dealer. There
is a risk of death!
Only use batteries which are approved for this foldable power
wheelchair (see Chapter 5).
Make sure that the foldable power wheelchair is switched off, before
you start to replace the batteries.
The batteries are located underneath the seat, protected by the battery
housing (Fig. 18).

Carefully undo all the plug connectors
•
Remove the screws of the battery housing lid.
•
Now remove the batteries.
•
Lift the new batteries into the designated space and connect the
contacts.
If the service life of the batteries has expired, i.e. they
can no longer be charged sufficiently, you must not
dispose of the batteries with household waste. When
you buy new batteries, old batteries will be taken
back by the dealer and disposed of properly!
