3 — Setting Up Your Modem
3.2 Connecting Your Modem for Internet Access

Connect a telephone set to the PHONE jack of the modem card.
(This optional connection eliminates the need to switch between your telephone set
and your modem if they are sharing the same telephone wall socket.)
Ë
Connect one end of the telephone extension cable to the LINE jack of your modem
and the other end to the telephone wall socket .
This completes the setting up of your modem. Please proceed to the chapter to install your
modem driver.
