The AXIS StorPoint HD implements share level access control only,
i.e. user level access is not yet supported. This means that a password
can be assigned to any StorPoint HD folder or any Jaz disk inserted in
a connected drive. The user will automatically be prompted for the
password when trying to access the shared folder. Access will then be
granted to the folder and all subfolders.
The password is set using the
SMBPassword
entry in the access control
files in the volumes folder. The following values are valid:
To assign a password to a StorPoint HD folder or Jaz drive or to
change an old password, do as follows:
Example 1:
Restrict access by prompting the user to enter a password, e.g.
‘pass’:
Example 2:
Grant all Microsoft Networks users access:

* No password required to access the folder using Microsoft

<password> Any valid password (Max. 15 characters)
<entry not present> No access using Microsoft Network
