Battery Safety Guide

For your safety, please carefully read this safety guide before using battery packs and
save this manual for future references.  This manual indicates all potential safety
hazards that can associate with misuse, misapplication, or damage to battery packs.

Ni-Cd & Ni-MH Batteries

Danger!

Failure to observe the following procedures may result in battery leakage, heat, bursting, and serious

personal injury.

1.  Never dispose of batteries in fire or expose to high temperature.

2.  Do not incinerate or heat batteries.

3.  Do not short circuit batteries with conductive material.

4.  Do not disassemble or alter battery packs.

5.  Do not over-charge, charge with reversed polarity, or over-discharge batteries.    Cell gas release

vent may be damaged and cause rupture.

6.  Do not connect the battery reversed in (+) and (-) terminals in the charger or equipment.

7.  Batteries contain strong colourless electrolyte which may cause permanent loss of eyesight and

injury when in direct contact with eyes or skin.    Immediately flush with clean water when in contact

with leaked electrolyte and consult a physician.

Warning!

1.  Do not immerse batteries in water.

2.  Stop using the battery if it is leaking, deformed, damaged, or differ from its normal condition.

3.  Replace the battery when usage time becomes abnormally short.

4.  Do not leave the battery in a charger or equipment if it generates an odor and/or heat, changes

color and/or shape, leaks electrolyte, or causes any other abnormality.

5.  Use only approved charger to charge the battery.

6.  Do not swallow batteries and keep away from small children.

Caution!

1.  Do not drive a nail in, hit with a hammer, stamp, step or strike the battery in other ways.

2.  Do not use the battery outside of the specified temperature range on the specification; otherwise,

the battery might cause heat generation, damage, or deterioration of its performance.

3.  Storage is recommended at room temperature (25

).

4.  Store batteries in dry and cool place.

5.  Do not charge the battery beyond the time specified in the charger / equipment instruction manual.

6.  If the battery has lead-wire or connector, do not carry the battery by its lead-wire or connector.

7.  Clean battery contacts with soft cloth if they are dirty.    Dirt on battery contacts may result in poor

contact with equipment and charger.

8.  Recycling may be required for your region; consult local recycling facility for more information.
