Enabling Link Aggregation
In Avid NEXIS v7.0 and higher, you can enable link aggregation (also called redundant networking,
NIC teaming, link bundling, or port trunking) on the Controllers in an Engine or System Director
Appliance. (Link aggregation is not supported on Avid NEXIS | PRO.)
LACP is supported in systems with one or two Controllers, but if two Controllers are present, it is
enabled on both. The Ethernet ports on all installed Controllers must be connected to one or more
supported switches.
The Avid NEXIS implementation follows the Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) standard.
See the
Avid NEXIS Administration Guide
for information on configuring LACP on the switch,
connecting the cables, and enabling LACP on the Avid NEXIS system.
The following figures provide examples of how to connect cables between the network ports on the
Controllers and an LACP-enabled switch.
