Before des igning a form at, ans wer thes e ques tions . How large is the s upply, whic h fonts s hould
be us ed, s hould a bar c ode be inc luded, what about a graphic ? There are s everal s teps to
des igning a c us tom form at:
Determ ine the label s iz e. Labels are available from Avery Dennis on in a wide variety of s iz es .
The applic ation and the am ount of printed data determ ine the s upply s iz e. Contac t your Ac c ount
Manager or Tec hnic al Support for m ore inform ation.
1 . Draw a rough s ketc h of the label. Note any areas that are preprinted on the label, s uc h as a
logo.
2 . Identify the field types that appear on the label. See “ About Field Types ” for m ore
inform ation.
3 . Dec ide whic h fonts to us e. W hen working with fonts , there are three c ons iderations : font
appearanc e, font s iz e (s c alable or bitm apped), and font s pac ing (m onos pac ed or
proportional). The TrueType® s c alable font, EFF Swis s Bold™ (font 50) is s tandard on the
printers . See Appendix B, “
Fonts ,” for s am ples of eac h font.
At this point, s end the des ign to the printer. To do this :
