Connecting Local Area Networks
Ethernet Switch
An Ethernet switch is used to provide connectivity between the internal cabinet devices. The
standard setup is as a private LAN and is not normally incorporated as part of an Avaya server
subnet (formerly named CLAN). MPS 500 supports Ethernet Switch ERS 4850GTS.
Note:
Refer to your System Definition Package (SDP) for the internal LAN configuration of your
system.
Cascade Cables for Ethernet Switches
All Ethernet Switches require cascade cables for LAN redundancy.
