8. After the TMS boots, the alarm viewer indicates the system is up. If additional TMS are
installed in the system, return to TMS Boot ROM to repeat this procedure for each TMS.
Interpreting System Self Tests
Power-Up Diagnostic Tests
The MPS 500 shows visual indication of the boot sequence during system startup. The indicators
are the LEDs on the NIC and TMS front panels. If a component does not come up on startup, repeat
the startup sequence and observe the LED sequences described in the following sections. The
following sections describe the correct sequences, possible error indications, and interpretations.
TMS Startup LED Sequence
There are 16 green LEDs labeled 0 through 15 on the front of each TMS. They provide visual
indication of the boot sequence during the TMS startup process. The LEDs are numbered as shown
in the following diagram.
