within 30 seconds, the phone waits indefinitely for a provisioning server URL. The 3CX
administrator who, monitors the device enrollment requests on the 3CX management console, can
authorize the request by assigning an extension to the phone.
During the PnP configuration process, the phones display the following status messages:
•
Searching for configuration ...
: When the phone is trying to discover the
provisioning server.
•
Waiting for configuration ...
: When the 3CX server responds to the initial
SUBSCRIBE request and the phone is waiting for the provisioning server URL.
•
Autodiscovery complete
: When the phone successfully receives a provisioning server
URL.
•
Autodiscovery failed
: When there is no response from the 3CX server to the initial
SUBSCRIBE request. PNP is not supported in the network.
The

discovers the PnP provisioning server address, the phone displays
Auto-discovery

TR/87 in 3CX servers
TR/87 is a technical report published by European Computer Manufacturers Association (ECMA).
The report describes how Computer Supported Telecommunications Applications (CSTA) can be
used to provide a subset of call control functionalities, called first-party call control for SIP user
agents. For more information on TR/87, see
Using CSTA for SIP Phone User Agents (uaCSTA).
Avaya J100 IP Phones support TR/87 when connected to a 3CX server. The CSTA applications on
3CX servers use TR/87 to monitor the state of a phone and initiate actions. When a phone that
supports CSTA configuration profile logs on to the 3CX server, the server initiates CSTA
application control session with the phone. After the session is initiated, you can do the following
using the web application:
• Monitor the state of the phone.
• Initiate actions on the phone.
• Control limited feature functionality.
In 3CX environments, TR/87 supports the following functionalities:
• Control basic call functions(make, answer, hold, and end calls)
