How to Operate the OC707:
The OC818 requires phantom power, so please make sure that you are supplying it according to P48
(48 V +/- 4 V). Peak current consumption is below 2,5 mA. Almost all state-of-the-art professional
mixing consoles, preamps and audio interfaces provide enough power, however some battery driven,
or older devices may fail to do so!
Setting up the OC707:
For optimum performance, do not cover the grill of the OC707 with your hand. Now face the grill of
the microphone with your mouth or your sound source and start your performance.
A small hint for those of you who are new to microphone handling: Imagine the microphone as a
torchlight with light coming out of end of the grill. Only what’s lit up now can be amplified well. This
would be your lips while singing for example unless you are ventriloquist!
Low Cut Filter:
The low cut filter oft he OC707 is a powerful tool to reduce unwanted low frequencies, like stage
noise, or handling sounds. In common performance situations a set low cut filter won’t affect the
reproduction of the human voice unless you’ve got Barry White on your stage.
''0 Hz'' means not active
''120 Hz'' is a 2
nd
order low cut filter at 120 Hz
To prohibit unwanted operation the switch is mounted recessed. Therefore, please use a thin tool
like a ballpen or small screwdriver to toggle the switch.
