Note:
The default setting is „S

external“ for port 1 and „S

internal“ for port 2.

Installation cable (e. g. J-Y(St)Y 2x2x0.6)with the following characteristics:

One twisted pair per U

port
–
Unscreened; however: screened for unfavourable conditions, for example, near a
strong transmitter or an electrical power line

adapter
Note:
For connecting one single COMfortel 1100/1200/1400/1500/1600/
2500/2500 AB/2600 system telephone, a U
P0
/S
0
adapter is not necessary.
•
ISDN wall sockets (e. g. IAE or UAE8)
•
Distance/line length between the devices, depending on the cable used:
–
Maximum 600 m for a screened cable with a pair diameter of 0.6 mm
–
Maximum 1000 m for an unscreened cable with a pair diameter of 0.6 mm
Caution
: Terminals integrated in the wall sockets are destroyed and can
damage the device.

In comparison with the S
0
port, do not equip a line end at the U
P0
port
with terminals. These are already integrated in the end devices
(COMfortel 1100/1500/1600/2500/2500 AB/2600 or U
P0
/S
0
adapter).
•
Remove terminals which have already been integrated in the wall
sockets for the use at the U
P0
port.
Note:
You do not need an ISDN wall socket if you use a U
P0
/S
0
adapter.
The U
P0
/S
0
adapter can be mounted on the wall or it can be connected to
the PBX via the two screw terminals on the back.
