You can change the PIN (Personal Identification Number) of the base or of the handset, or register
additional base units or handsets by using the Advanced menu.

If you have more than one COMfortel DECT 650C and you have more handsets connected to the
same base and you are using the Advanced menu or registering a handset, nobody can access the
Advanced menu until you finish the base setup.
Changing Handset and Base PIN
Base and Handset PIN's are required to protect your phone against unauthorized use. They are set
to 0000 at the factory. You can change the PIN's as follows:

If you enter the wrong PIN, your phone returns to Standby mode with a warning sound (only if you
have activated the key beep, refer to
chapter Setting Key Beep on page 124
). Moreover, the display
does not show the PIN as you enter it in order to maintain it secret.
If you have more than one COMfortel DECT 650C and you have more handsets connected to the
same base, the other handset users cannot access the Advanced menu without having the newly
changed Base PIN.
MENU
Press the MENU soft key to display the main
menu items.
SELECT
Press repeatedly the navigation keys to
choose 4.Advanced, then press the SELECT
soft key.
SELECT
Choose 1.PIN Change by pressing the
SELECT soft key.
SELECT
Your phone asks you to choose between Hand-
set PIN and Base PIN. Press repeatedly the
navigation keys to choose between the two
options and press the SELECT soft key to con-
firm.

SELECT
Depending on the choose you did before, enter
either the current Handset PIN or the current
Base PIN and press the SELECT soft key.

SELECT
Enter the new four-digits PIN you want to use,
and press the SELECT soft key.

SELECT
Enter the new PIN again to confirm it, and press
the SELECT soft key.
To return to Standby mode, press the end/on/
off key.
