Writing and Sending a New Message

This function in not available if you haven't previously set the sub address as explained in
Setting Terminal Number (Sub Address) on page 116
Now, every time you want to access the SMS menu, the password will be required. If the wrong
password is entered the handset returns in standby mode.
If you don’t need the PIN any more you can remove it also in the menu 4.Set Password. Clear the
password in the password field by keeping pressed the CLEAR soft key.
Writing and Sending a New Message
You can create a text message containing up to 160 alphanumeric characters and send it as a SMS
message.
Sending SMS
Press the SMS key to display the SMS menu
items. Or, press the MENU soft key to display
the main menu items, then select 1.SMS by
pressing the SELECT soft key.

Press the SELECT soft key to choose 1.Write.

Press the SELECT soft key to choose 1.SMS.

Enter the message text (up to 160 characters)
by using the alphanumeric keys. When you
type the message, the convenient "countdown"
counter in the bottom line shows the available
remaining characters you can enter.
If you press an alphanumeric key and the SMS
key one after another, you can choose a special
character in the convenient "countdown" coun-
ter in the bottom line by pressing repeatedly the
navigation keys. When the desired character is
highlighted, press the SMS key again.
If you are ready with the text, press the OK soft
key.

1.Enter Number - allows you to manually
dial a phone number by using the numeric
key.

2.Search Number - allows you to select a
number from the lists.
