7.1.4 Serial
The serial port (RS232) on the back panel is used for communications between
the HUMBOLDT and home automation systems, that are equipped with a serial
port.
Turn the rotary encoder clockwise to activate the serial port of the HUM-
BOLDT. Turn it counter clockwise to disable the serial port.
Off
The serial port is disabled. Communications between a home au-
tomation system and the HUMBOLDT via the RS-232 interface
are deactivated. Use this setting if the HUMBOLDT is not con-
nected to a home automation system.
On
The serial port is active. The HUMBOLDT is now controlled by
a home automation system via the RS-232 interface.
Important

If you want to use the serial port for controlling the HUMBOLDT, it has
to be activated (
On
).

While the serial port is active, the HUMBOLDT will have an increased power
consumption during stand-by mode.

Disable the serial port, if you do not wish to control the HUMBOLDT via
serial port (e.g. with a home automation system).
