INSTALLER MODE
The MC-6011 can be setup in several ways. It can be loaded from another keypads, from a PC program,
or directly, using its display and buttons. If you are doing a global setup, assigning inputs, source control,
room and source names that will be identical across all keypads, you can use load all keypads using the
PC program or from another keypad. If you are making keypad specific assignments, you will need to
have other keypads off line when using the PC program or make keypad specific changes directly on the
keypad itself.
To enter the installer area, press and hold the extra button until the display reads CODE _ _ _ _. Enter the
code “1867” the Sel button. The display will read INSTALLER. Pressing the >> or << buttons will advance
through these options:
INPUT CONFIG - SOURCE CNTRL - SOURCE LABEL - ROOM LABEL - MAX ROOM - CHECK SETUP
- PROGRAM ALL
The > button drills down one level deeper and the || button always backs up one level. If you seem lost
deep in the MC-6011’s program, pressing || repeatedly will always back you up to one of the above listed
options.
Input Configuration
While the display reads INPUT CONFIG pressing the > button will engage the input configuration mode.
The display will read NORMAL INPUT. Here there are a total of nine options, the most common of which
the normal input configuration option is the most common:
NORMAL INPUT - PARTYGROUP 1 - PARTYGROUP 2 - PARTY GROUP 3 - PARTYGROUP 4 -
PARTYGROUP 5 - PARTYGROUP 6 - PARTYGROUP 7 - PARTYGROUP 8
(Please note than not all Suite systems have all eight Party Groups. Most have only four Party Groups).
By pressing >> or <<, you will be able to advance through the above nine options. Again, pressing || will
return you to the previous level.
Normal Input refers to simply selecting a device to the room number (zone) that the keypad is set to.
Party Group inputs will send a source/party group command. As such when an input is displayed on the
keypad that is programmed to a Party Group, if that input is selected, rooms set to track that Party Group
number will switch to that source. While the MC-6011 features Party control options under the Mode
button for house-wide one button entertainment, the feature when presented at this level permits you to
setup MC-6011 keypads so that their input selection always issues Party Group commands. This is
extremely useful when you want to setup several zones to constantly track the same input (such as zones
that architecturally open to each other).
For example, if a living room, dining room, and entry foyer require independent volume, bass and treble
settings, they need to be each their own zone. However, if these three areas are open to each other, there
may be a desire to prevent different sources from ever playing simultaneously in these zones/rooms. As
such, these rooms can be set to turn on together but never play a different source. To do so, one of the
Suite 16 or Suite 8x8’s Party Groups will need to be dedicated to this group of zones/rooms. Each of the
room’s keypads will need to be programmed so that the source buttons on these keypads engage sources
specific to that party group. Finally, in software, using the ADA Suite 16 or Suite 8x8 PC Software, all
these zones/rooms will need to be set to the corresponding party group.
