When it receives a membership query 

message from the router, it sends a membership report message to the router port

When it receives a leave group message from a computer which is the only one in the group, it sends 

a leave group message to the router port and removes the computer from multicast group

. 

Proxy is like a middle 

man that handles information about multicast group in between routers and computers
