Sending SMS
(text messages)
Your base is delivered ready to send SMS
messages as soon as the phone is connected
to ISDN.
Prerequisites:
u
Your network provider supports the SMS
service (information on this is available
from your network provider).
u
Calling Line Identification is functioning.
u
The number of the SMS centre is entered.
Register with the Swisscom ISDN network
by sending an SMS.
u
An incoming SMS is signalled by one alert
tone.
If you wish to receive SMS messages via sev-
eral connections, you must register each
connection separately with your service pro-
vider.
Define the connection via which you want to

Writing/sending SMS
An SMS can be up to 612 characters. If there
are more than 160 characters, the SMS is
sent as a
linked
SMS (up to 4 SMS messages).

Select the number with the area
code (even if you are in that
area) from the directory or enter
it directly.

Press the display key. The SMS is
sent.

sage is saved in the draft list. You
can edit and send it later.
If you are interrupted by an external call
while writing an SMS, the text is automati-
cally saved in the draft message list.
Receiving an SMS
All received SMS messages are saved in the
incoming list. Linked SMS messages are dis-
played as
one
message. If this is too long or
is not transferred completely, it is split into
individual messages.
New SMS messages are indicated by the

icon in the display, the

flashing and an advisory tone sounding.
