EXAMPLE OF INSPECTION FOR WEAR
> Pins turned indicate an incorrect lubrication and a risk of seizure.
> Loose pins. It happens when the
pins are turned or when the joints
are rigid.
> Cracked plate due to hydrogen.
This is often caused by cold or
steam cleaning. Degreasing with
inadequate products can lead to
such damage.
> Measure of chain stretching.
1.3. JIB AND CYLINDER
The articulations of the jib,
stiffener
and cylinders are
mounted with self-lubricated
bushes. Even if no maintenance
is required, the cylinder rod
must be checked for :
- Rust.
- Scratches: risks of seal
wearing and leaks.
- Leaks: the seals must be
replaced.
Use an appropriate tool to replace the bushes. Do not hit the bushes directly as it could cause
compaction of the material and premature wear of the bushes.
