Connections
The main panel on the
Connections
page displays the
Port List.
From here you
can select and connect to the serial devices via the port they are connected to.
Heading
Description
Port Number
This column represents the physical port that the device is
connected to on the rear of the Serial Console Server.
Port Name
This column shows the port name which can be changed from
the
Port Access - Properties
page (See page 71 for details).
Status
This column shows the
On
or
Off
status of a device connected to
the port. If no device is connected to the port a “
-
” will appear. A
status of
None
indicates
Online Detect
has been disabled for the
port, and no information is being provided about the port or
device (See
Busy
This column will show
Busy
when the port is being accessed by
a user through the Serial Console Server.
Operation Mode
This column lists the
Work Mode
that the port is set to for
access. The most common setting is
Console Management,
which is set on the
Port Access - Properties
page, under the
Operation Mode
Note:
Console Management is the means of accessing a serial
device for operations on it.
