Using Your Keypad and PC in Harmony
Keypads Using v5.xx firmware
When using the Keypad with version 5.xx software, your PC and Keypad will talk and share information. Previous versions
of the software utilized a one-way channel of communication which occasionally created issues that in the past would
cause the mount to be lost. With v5.xx, the Keypad will poll the mount (i.e., CP5 control box) for information so that any
updates that were made via the PC will be known to the Keypad. Refer to the Keypad manual for additional information.
Keypads with the v5.xx firmware require the GTOCP5 (or GTOCP4 as used with our other mounts) control boxes.
The above advances in Keypad / computer communication are the reason for our STRONG recommendation to update
your Keypad to the version 5.xx firmware. However, if you have additional mounts that have GTOCP3 or earlier control
boxes, then it will not be possible to share the v5.xx Keypad with them. Those earlier control boxes do not have the more
advanced functionality of the CP4 and CP5 that is required.
