POWER REQUIREMENTS
•
24VDC
regulated & filtered power supply is required
•
.2 amps
per rail (
.5 amps
per rail with optional Voice Module)
Before replacing any of the 3 parts listed below,
perform all possible part checks included in this guide. This
will insure that the defective part(s) is replaced the first time.
New style board with Diagnostic LEDs. Check for correct input wiring from power transfer device to the
circuit board, for proper input voltage and for proper operation of Rail Insert and Diagnostic LEDs, with rail
armed, disarmed and by exercising the rail push bar, latch bolt or vertical rods
Old version board without Diagnostic LEDs. Check for correct input wiring from power transfer device to the
circuit board, for proper input voltage and for proper voltage or resistance measurements, of electromagnet,
push rail switch and latch bolt monitor or rod monitor switches at the rail 8-pin connector. Exercise rail push
bar, latch bolt or vertical rods while checking switches
Jumper J4 located on the old version circuit board can be used for troubleshooting if the rail will not arm.
First, unplug the LBM switch assembly 2-pin connector from the rail 2-pin connector. Next, unplug J4
jumper from circuit board. Plug it onto the 2-pin rail connector and try arming it. If rail now arms, then
troubleshoot the LBM switch assembly. Make sure J4 is placed back onto the circuit board when finished.
Failure to do this will result in 30 second delayed egress instead of 15 seconds
REPLACEMENT PARTS
1. Latch Bolt/Rod Monitor (LBM) switch and cable assembly with 2-pin connector
2. Circuit Board Assembly only (with four diagnostic LEDs) – Part # 52-2558 for Standard and BOCA circuit
board. (If BOCA – add note on order that board must be BOCA)
* If the circuit board is defective and is the older 16-pin harness version, it must be replaced with a
59- Circuit Board Replacement Kit. The kit includes one each of 52-2558 (circuit board) and
appropriate harness for required rail length. Refer to page 1 for required kit part number
3. Rail Assembly (Includes Circuit Board with insert, push bar, push rail switch, electromagnet and 8-pin
ribbon cable assemblies)
To order correct replacement rail assembly,
contact the factory or a distributor with the door width, type
of 80 series exit device (8300 through 8900 series) and rail finish
