MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR ARMING RAIL (DELAYED EGRESS MODE)
NOTE: This guide can be used with the new circuit board with diagnostic LEDs and the older
version circuit board without the diagnostic LEDs.
*
To Arm 59- Rail – The
Blue
Door Status Switch (
DSS
) wire and the
White
(formerly Green)
Fire Alarm (
FA
) Contact wire must be connected directly
to the Black wire (-24VDC) or the contacts must be closed as shown
* Only these 4 wires are needed to arm rail along with the correct LBM
switch and Push Rail Switch position as shown before
Rail 8-Pin Connector (with 6 wires)
Connects Rail Electromagnet, Push Rail Switch and LBM Switch assemblies to the 59- Main Circuit Board
IMPORTANT:
Always remove power to the rail before disconnecting or reconnecting connectors at the 59- circuit
board. Disconnect the 24VDC Power Supply or remove the Red (+24VDC) power wire at the rail
Resistance measurements of the Rail Electromagnet, Push Rail and LBM Switches can be made at the top of
the 8-pin connector. Remove power to the rail and disconnect this 8-pin connector from the circuit board to make
these resistance measurements. Exercise push bar, latch bolt or rods to make all measurements
A closed or shorted switch should read less than 3.0 ohms
An open switch should read greater than 1.0 Mohm (1.0 million ohms)
Rail Electromagnet (RM)
300 ohms +/- 10%
(24VDC or 0VDC)
* When rail is armed, 24VDC from 59- main circuit
board energizes electromagnet and holds back
rail so latchbolt or vertical rods cannot retract
Latch Bolt Monitor
(LBM)
Switch
(Normally Closed)
With Latch Bolt / Vertical Rods
Extended
* To arm rail, switch must be closed.
Switch
opens when latchbolt or vertical rods are retracted
Latch Bolt extended, Rods engaged = 0VDC
Latch Bolt or Rods retracted = 23VDC
Push Rail Switch (PRS)
(Normally Open)
With Push Rail Extended
* To arm rail, switch must be open.
Switch
closes when rail is pushed in slightly
Push OUT = 5VDC, Push IN = 0VDC
