Event Log Settings as accessed via Web UI
To access the Event Log settings in the Web Interface select the Administration option from the left hand
menu and select System Logs. There is a drop down box at the top of the page to toggle the log view
between the Audit and Event logs.
Audit Log Settings
The Audit Log is a record of a variety of actions that occur within the TeleBoss. The Audit Log is stored as a
CRDB file; that is, it is accessed and controlled under the same policies which govern how you would
generally access buffered data. For example, you can have the Audit Log FTP-pushed like any other CRDB
file. Unlike other CRDB files, you can view the Audit Log from within the Audit Log Settings menu.
The Audit Log overwrites itself when it becomes full. The Maximum File Size (
audit.log.maxsize
)
setting controls the maximum size (in K) to which the file should be limited. If the setting is 0 then the Audit
Log’s only constraint on size will be the available physical memory. This available memory could be used for
more important data buffering which is why the default maximum audit log file size is not 0.
Certain actions are automatically written to the Audit Log anytime it is enabled. These actions are:
•
When a user changes the configuration via a Setting Key
•
When a user connects, disconnects, or transfers a
file via the unit’s FTP server
•
When a GPS positional fix is acquired or lost by the optional installed GPS card
•
When the wireless modem connects or disconnects (due to failure in the latter case) from the wireless
network
