7.3.
ABNORMAL OPERATION
Abnormal operating conditions are classified into warnings and faults.
7.3.1.
Warnings
Warnings are defined as abnormal operating conditions that do not prevent the unit from
operating. Although the unit continues operating, it may do so at a reduced performance level
or with reduced functionality. The word WARNING appears on the screen for as long as a
warning condition is present.
7.3.2.
Faults and Restart
Faults are defined as abnormal operating conditions that require the unit to immediately stop
processing power. As soon as a fault is detected the input and output contactors are turned off.
The word FAILURE appears on the screen for as long as a fault condition is present. The unit
attempts to restart operation 15 seconds after it opens the contactors or when no fault condition is
present, whichever is later. For input and output overload faults restart is limited to two times
within 12 hours. For any other fault condition restart is limited to three times within 1 hour.
When the maximum number of restarts is reached the unit will stay in fault status indefinitely;
operation can resume only with a manual turn-off – turn-on cycle.
7.3.3.
Failure and Warning Messages
To aid in system diagnostics, when an abnormal operating condition is detected, a diagnostics
screen is added to the two status screens rotation. The diagnostics screen displays a list of
present fault and warning messages.
Common fault messages are:
In_Ovld
Input overload
Out_Ovld
Output overload
In_V
Input voltage outside the acceptable range
In_Freq
Input frequency outside the acceptable range
FAULT: No Fault
WARNING: Out1_I_Hi, Out2_I_Hi,
