A range of amplifiers designed smart, and ready

dards of production demand. More power, more

These amplifiers are a distillation of our ex-

perience gained through years of making com-

pact, powerful amplifiers. The ARX SX1500 and

3000 are designed to satisfy the most demand-

ing professional high power applications.

New Technology Inside

Look inside either of these new amps and you’ll

see that it looks very different from traditional

amplifiers, without their masses of loose wir-

ing, solder tags, and loads of interconnected

circuit boards.

The truth is, you can't keep making amplifi-

ers the way people did in the ’50’s. We’ve

learned a lot of manufacturing lessons from our

successful range of ARX signal processors, and

we’ve adapted those techniques by putting all

the circuitry on one motherboard, thus reduc-

ing the amount of hand wired links.

This enables fast, accurate assembly, and

means that the whole amplifier can be com-

pletely tested

before

it gets put into the chas-

sis. Both the SX1500 and the SX3000 use our

SplitSupply

power supply protocol, enabling

the drive circuitry to be run on a separate DC

rail to the power circuitry.

The benefits of this layout are lower noise,

greatly reduced IM distortion, and more output

power. And isn't that what we all want?

It Ain’t Heavy, It’s My ARX

Some amplifiers are just designed heavy, be-

cause it takes more time and effort and money

to design them light! Well, here at ARX, we’ve

taken the time and effort

and

spent the money!

Advanced computer modelling techniques

have enabled us to put the strength where it’s

needed, and to reduce excess weight where

possible.

What about Protection?

We’ve done intensive research into amplifier

protection, in order to design something that

really does work, not something that

should

work! Both the SX1500 and 3000 have new

relay switched resettable protection circuits,

plus our new switchable SoftClip

circuit which

intelligently protects the amp from clipping.

Unlike simple limiting which can cause

harsh distortion of low frequency signals, the

SoftClip circuit keeps the amplifier from hard

clipping without destroying the sound quality,

yet still retaining the dynamics of the music. A

new I/O comparator circuit has front panel LED

displays for true Clipping indication, as well as

Signal Present and Bridged mono mode sta-

tus.

Four variable speed temperature controlled

cooling fans pump air through ARX’s propri-

etary ‘UltraFin

’ heatsink to keep the SX am-

plifiers cool. When the internal temperature

rises, so does the fan speed.

Built to Last

Over 10 years ago, ARX was one of the first

companies in the world to bring out a high pow-

ered amplifier (the legendary SS700) in only 2

rack spaces! A concept that has been embraced

by virtually every amp manufacturer since then.

less than just about anyone else!
