15.2. Shift function descriptions
15.2.1. All modes
15.2.1.1. SHIFT + Arp/Loop On
Activates Hold mode for the Arpeggiator and Looper. The On button will flash when Hold
mode is active.
15.2.1.2. SHIFT + Last Step
This will activate Page Follow mode, so that when the sequencer is running it will display
the page that is currently playing. To deactivate, simply press one of the page buttons (16,
32, 48, or 64). The page you select will be displayed after that.
15.2.1.3. SHIFT + Load
Toggles Instant Change on and off for pattern selection. If Instant Change is active the Load
button will be lit when the Shift button is pressed.
15.2.1.4. SHIFT + Pad 1-4
Selects the playback direction for the sequencer and the arpeggiator. This is also known as
the Play mode. Four options are available: Forward (FW), Reverse (Rev), Alternating (Alt),
and Random (Rand).
15.2.1.5. SHIFT + Pad 5-8
Sets the Time Division for the sequencer and the arpeggiator. This is also sometimes called
the
step size
or
step resolution
. Four resolutions are available: 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, and 1/32.
15.2.1.6. SHIFT + Pad 9-16
Use this combination to select the scale for the pads and the current pattern.
15.2.1.7. SHIFT + Pad 16 + Pad 1-12
Use this combination to edit the User Scale without connecting to a computer and using the
MIDI Control Center software.
15.2.1.8. SHIFT + Pad 16 + Tempo Knob
This changes the Root Note and retains that for any pattern that you load. In contrast, the
standard Transposition feature (Pad 16 + Pad 1-12) is not retained when a new pattern is
loaded.
