SharpSwitch™ PCIE-9205 Installation and Use (6806800U18D)

Functional Description

This chapter provides a brief description about the key functional blocks of PCIE-9205 card. The
PCIE-9205 card provides a processor and network subsystem for the Artesyn MaxCore™
platform. The PCIE-9205 comes in a PCI Express like form factor with MaxCore-specific
modifications and extensions.

The following figure depicts the functional block digram of PCIE-9205 card.

4.1

Processor

The PCIE-9205 card contains one Intel® Xeon® Processor D (also known as Broadwell-DE SoC)
processor and an Intel FM10840 (also known as RedRock Canyon) NIC/Switch.

4.2

Memory

The processor can be equipped with up to four DDR4 SO-DIMMs (two per Memory channel).
Depending on the available SO-DIMM memory capacities, this may result in a maximum
memory capacity of 64GByte DDR4 memory per processor.
