Utilities and Applications
The PCIE-7205card comes with the tool pci7207 utility. This chapter provides more
information about pci7205 utility and its usage. In addition to that the PCIE-7205 OS related
information such as sensor information, BIOS update and AMT provisioning is explained in this
chapter.
7.1 pci7207 Host OS Utility
The pci7207 utility can be used to:

List the PCIE-7205 cards installed in the system.
The utility looks for instances of Intel i350 PCI devices in the system, it then looks for the
PCIE-7205 information in the sub vendor id and sub device id. For each device found it
looks at the PCI bus/device/function information and assigns each a CARD ID and a CPU ID.
The CARD ID and CPU ID are used to identify an individual PCIE-7205 CPU on a specific
card.

Generate a DHCP configuration file.
The utility searches the system for PCIE-7205 devices. For each device it determines the
MAC address of the each port and adds 4 to determine the PCIE-7205 CPU MAC address.
The generated
dhcpd.conf
output is based on the MAC address of each PCIE-7205 CPU.
It assumes a network configuration as follows:
– For each PCIE-7205 CPU there is a separate subnet.
– Local interface: 172.20.<pcie card><cpu>.1
– PCIE-7205 CPU interface: 172.20.<pcie card><cpu>.100

Generate ifconfig statements to initialize the local Ethernet interfaces associated with the
PCIE-7205 cards installed in the system.

Reset, Power Down, Power Up, Power Cycle a PCIE-7205 CPU.
The utility manipulates GPIO pins in the Intel i350 device on the PCIE-7205 card to
communicate the CPLD what action to take.

Read sensor information from a PCIE-7205 CPU.

Execute BIOS Crisis recovery for a PCIE-7205 CPU.
The utility manipulates GPIO pins in the Intel i350 device on the PCIE-7205 card to trigger
the BIOS Crisis recovery.
