Functional Description

SharpStreamer™ Pro Mini PCIE-7210-1 Installation and Use (6806800U78A)

System Management Bus (SMBus) is used as interface between devices.



Inter Integrated Circuit
The I2C0 interface is connected to the inlet and outlet onboard temperature sensors.

3.6.2.2

Serial Voltage Identification

The Serial Voltage Identification (SVID) is a three-wire digital interface used to transfer power
management information between the master and the slave. In PCIE-7210-1, Skylake-H
processor acts as a master and various voltage regulators act as slaves for this SVID interface.

3.6.3

Boot Controller

The boot controller is responsible for managing the boot process. The boot process loads a
boot image that is stored in 128 Mbit on board Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) FLASH
connected to Skylake-H PCH device.

3.7

Micro SD Slot

Two Micro SD slots are available on each PCIE-7210-1 card. One Micro SD slot

J8

is connected

to SKylake CPU and other slot

J7

connected to Quark processor.

The Micro SD card slot in slot J8 can be used either as a non-volatile storage space or as a
firmware recovery option for Skylake-H processor.It can accommodate up to 64 GB of flash
storage.

The Micro SD card in slot J7 can be used as non-volatile storage space for OS installation of
Quark processor. It can accommodate up to 8 GB of storage space.

First insert the Micro SD card into the slot on PCIE-7210-1 and then install the PCIE-
7210-1 card into the server in powered off state.
