Up to three upstream CAMs and/or three downstream CAMs residing on the same fiber node are supported.
The MAC Domains are members of the same cable bundle.
General Load Balancing Groups must be configured with the same load balancing policy.
Extended Upstream Frequency Range
Extended upstream frequency ranges (5 - 85 MHz) are supported with recent releases. The C4/c CMTS uses the modem
capability when evaluating TCS selection and potential modem movement via DCC or DBC. A modem will not be assigned
to an US channel, nor will a CM be moved to an US channel using the extended upstream frequency range if the CM does
not support the extended range.
This CM capability is identified during registration by TLV 5.20.
The extended upstream frequency range is supported with Static load balancing as well. Static load balancing will not send
a modem to an extended frequency channel after receiving its initial range request because the CER does not know if the
modem is capable of the extended frequency at ranging time.
Statistics
The load balancing feature keeps statistics of the number of transfers into and out of all of the channels on the system. The
statistics are divided into the three categories including:
DCC transfers
Static transfers
DBC transfers
To display the load balance statistics, use the following command:
show cable load-balance statistics
