3 General

The AQ-G215 generator protection IED is a member of the AQ-200 product line. The hardware and

software are modular: the hardware modules are assembled and configured according to the

application's I/O requirements and the software determines the available functions. This manual

describes the specific application of the AQ-G215 generator protection IED. For other AQ-200 series

products please consult their respective device manuals.

The AQ-G215 generator protection IED is well-suited for machines requiring complete generator

protections. It can be combined with AQ-T216 to protect larger machines requiring differential

protection and greater protection redundancy. There are up to three (3) option card slots available for

additional I/O or communication cards for more comprehensive monitoring and control applications.

AQ-G215 communicates using various protocols including the IEC 61850 substation communication

standard.
