18.8 Replacing the Control Board
Before you begin:
•
Ensure the fireplace is off and cool before servicing
•
Disconnect power supply to the fireplace (including
backup batteries)
•
Turn off gas supply
•
Open the Control Access Door (see
Section 6.4
)
•
The Control Board is attached to the bottom of the pedestal
using velcro. Pull the Control Board outward to remove
CAUTION:
Label all wires prior to disconnection when servicing controls. Wiring errors can cause improper and dangerous
operation. Verify proper operation after servicing. This appliance, when installed, must be electrically grounded in accordance with
local codes or, in the absence of local codes, with the
National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, or the Canadian Electrical code,
CSA C22.1

1.
Mark all the wires connected to the control board as you
unplug them from the control board.
2.
Make sure you pull the 2-pin connector as shown in
Figure
18.8.02
.
3.
Plug the wires and the 2-Pin connector into the new control
board.
4.
Place the new control board on the bottom of the pedestal by
aligning the velcro on the control board with the velcro on the
bottom of the pedestal.
Note:
Keep wires tidy and organized away from the firebox when
placing the control board back inside the pedestal.

Resupply gas to the fireplace
•
Resupply power to the fireplace
