20.13 Removing the Pilot
Before you begin:
1.
Ensure the fireplace is off and cool before servicing
2.
Disconnect power supply (including back-up battery power) to
the fireplace
3.
Turn off gas supply
4.
Remove the fireplace surround. See
Section 16.0
5.
Remove barrier screen. See
Section 14.0
6.
Remove door assembly. See
Section 15.0
7.
Remove burner media. See
Section 18.0
8.
Remove panel set (if applicable). See
Section 17.0
9.
Remove the fireplace from the masonry opening (optional)
10.
Remove the burner. See
Section 20.12
Step 1:
Remove the (2) screws securing the pilot shield. Remove
the pilot shield from the fireplace.

Remove the (2) screws securing the rear firebox panel.

Step 3:
Slide the bottom of the rear firebox panel outward to
remove from the fireplace.

Step 4:
Remove the (5) screws securing the burner support
bracket. Remove the burner support bracket from the fireplace.

Label all wires prior to disconnection when servicing controls. Wiring errors can cause improper and dangerous
operation. Verify proper operation after servicing. This appliance, when installed, must be electrically grounded in accordance with
local codes or, in the absence of local codes, with the
National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, or the Canadian Electrical code,
CSA C22.1
